Police message to parents as children throw objects at force motorbike

A group of children were seen throwing a number of objects at a police motorbike responding to an emergency incident in Nottinghamshire.

The group also damaged two vehicles while throwing the items from a bridge over the A617 near Pleasley just before 3.45pm on Sunday, March 6.

The Shirebrook Police Safer Neighbourhood Team confirmed in a Facebook post it had located a group of youths and their details were taken so an investigation could begin.

A spokesperson said: “This behaviour will not be tolerated, and robust action will be taken.

“If anyone witnessed anything or has any information such as dash cam footage that will assist our investigation, please get in touch by calling 101 or messaging Derbyshire Constabulary’s Facebook page quoting crime reference number 22000131099.”

In a Tweet, Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit added: “This behaviour can kill people. Appreciate these are the actions troubled individuals but parents please consider a conversation about the dangers.”
