Amy Duke, a mum who lives in the area, said she initially thought it was her son who had been attacked.

“My friend messaged me saying a boy had just been stabbed,” said the 30-year-old. “I’ve never been so scared in my life, I just started crying.

“She said ‘where is your son?’ I’ve never ran so fast in my life.”

Amy’s young son was found safe, however she added: “It just makes you want to move. I don’t feel safe at all. There’s always stabbings and guns, it’s such a bad area to live in.

“I thought it was my son. But that’s someone else’s son, the family must be going through such a hard time.”
