Live A38 updates as multi vehicle collision causes delays

A lane of the A38 has been closed after a crash. Lane one of two on the A38 southbound between M1 J28 Mansfield and the B600 Alfreton has been closed after a collision, with reports coming in of the crash at 3.30pm on March 29.

A Twitter post by Highways England said: “1 lane (of 2) is closed on the A38 southbound between M1 J28 ( Mansfield ) and the B600 ( Alfreton ) due to a multi-vehicle collision. There is approx. 2.5 miles of congestion on approach, causing delays of 20 minutes above usual journey times.”

There is currently 2.5 miles of congestion on approach to the incident. Highways England have said that his is causing delays of around 20 minutes for drivers.

It comes after a previous incident in the area on Tuesday morning which saw two people taken to hospital after a serious crash between a pedestrian and a motorcyclist on the A38 at a petrol station.
