A van was stopped carrying what police called a ‘copious amount’ of stolen fuel. Police have said that their enquiries are ongoing after they recovered a ‘copious’ amount of stolen fuel from a stopped van near Muskham.

Pictures showed a number of containers filled with petrol stored in the back of a van. Police said when approached by officers the driver of the van drove off before being halted.

In a post by the Notts Roads Policing Twitter account, said: “RPU cops spotted this suspicious vehicle picked up near Muskham where the driver clearly went through the process of fight or flight.

“Clearly a marked 5 series in view was too much too handle and the vehicle made off. Copious amounts of stolen fuel recovered, enquiries ongoing.”
