Four teenagers have been arrested after police responded to reports of an attempted shop burglary. It was reported that a group of suspects had entered a store in Abbey Street, Lenton, and demanded items at around 3.45pm on Thursday, April 14.

Officers detained two suspects and caught two more after a brief foot chase. Four boys, aged 13, 14, 14 and 16, were arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary as enquiries continue into the incident.

Sergeant James Rimmington, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Burglary is an upsetting crime, especially when victims come face-to-face with alleged offenders. When incidents like this happen we will always act swiftly and work hard to find those responsible.

“I hope the speed of these arrests provides some reassurance to the local community and demonstrates how seriously we treat reports of burglary which can have a long-lasting impact on victims.
