Trains disrupted between Nottingham and Lincoln after person hit by train

Rail commuters travelling between Nottingham and Lincoln are being warned of delays after a person was hit by a train. It is understood that the incident happened on the line in the Lowdham area of Nottinghamshire.

The emergency services have been informed and were being sent to the scene, an East Midlands Railway spokesperson confirmed. The rail operator added in a Tweet that the incident is “disrupting our trains between Nottingham and Lincoln. At present emergency services have now arrived on site.”

According to the Nottingham Railway Station Twitter feed, an account that is run by volunteers, the emergency services are expected to remain on site until 9pm today, Sunday, May 1.
