Nottingham’s Detonate festival returns to Colwick Country Park on Saturday, June 4 from 11 am until 11 pm. The one-day event will finish with a four-minute firework display.

The team at Detonate has been in touch with the local community ahead of the event to share details of road closures and also noise control.

The following road closures have been announced for the festival day.

Racecourse Road will be closed from 7am to 1 am to control vehicle access and a safe pedestrian route.

Bendigo Lane, Colwick Woods Court, Candle Meadow, Colwick Park Close, Byron Close and Rectory Road will be closed from 8am until 1am but there will be controlled access for vehicles limited to residents, emergency services and local business transport. This is to prevent festival attendees from parking and obscuring access.

Colwick Road, A612 and Colwick Woods Court will be closed from 10pm and until midnight with exceptions for the same vehicles to allow the roundabout traffic to flow quicker.

There will also be restrictions and noise level tests for park visitors during the weekend. They announced they will be working with their team of Noise Management Officers to help control the disruption that the major event may cause.

Local residents can expect sound system control tests to be run from Friday, June 3 to the event on Saturday, June 4 between 11 until 7pm. The testing will hopefully help control noise levels but may cause disruption for park visitors on the weekend.

Certain parts of the park will be inaccessible at different times while the stage is being built. Mile End Road entrance and area will be open throughout the event. Colwick Country Park has made a map accessible through their Facebook page of where will be open and what parts are restricted.
