A 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the fatal stabbing of a teenager in Twickenham, the Metropolitan Police has said.
Police were called at 4.45pm on Tuesday after reports of a fight on a playing field in southwest London.
Hazrat Wali, 18, of Notting Hill, west London, was attacked at a field on Craneford Way and died around an hour later in hospital.
Richmond upon Thames College, yards from the scene of the attack, confirmed he was one of its students.
A 16-year-old boy has now been arrested, and he remains in custody at a south London police station.
A post-mortem examination has been scheduled to take place at Kingston Mortuary on Friday.
Mr Wali’s family continue to be supported by specially trained officers.
