Ilkeston residents got a shock earlier this month after waking up to find a car crashed into a fence. In the early hours of Thursday, June 16, a silver car was found abandoned on Chalons Way after a careless driver crashed into a fence.
A local driver had reportedly treated the streets of Ilkeston as his own personal racetrack, before causing damage to both his vehicle and the fence. A resident has described the situation as ambition outweighing ability.
It is unknown how fast the driver was going, but the a sign close to where the vehicle was crashed shows Chalons Way has a speed limit of 40mph. The driver of the vehicle did not stay after the crash and decided to leave the vehicle as and where it was.
