Fans ‘super excited’ as Em Con confirms it will return to Nottingham for two-day event

One of Nottingham’s biggest events has confirmed it will return for another year after a successful two-day show at the Motorpoint Arena. Em-Con combines celerity meet and greets, traders and stalls along with impressive film and TV sets with cosplay.

The event has been confirmed for its 9th year and will take place on on Saturday, June 10 and Sunday, June 11, 2023, although the celebrities have yet to be announced. Fans who attended this year’s event were delighted with the opportunity to meet actors from Happy Potter, Hot Fuzz, Doctor Who and Gavin and Stacey. There was also a chance to take a photo in film sets such as Red Dwarf or Dr Who.

Last year’s event saw guest appearances from Walking Dead stars and Jay and Silent Bob star, Jason Mewes. Jason Mewes has become known for his solo stage shows in recent years.

Em-Con draws thousands of fans to the event over the two days, often dressed in various different costumes. Em-Con is also known for its cosplay in which members of the public dress up and emulate their favourite characters from games, TV, film or comic books. Cosplay has also become a huge part of events like this in recent years.

Early bird tickets are already on sale for the event with a weekend pass on sale for £19.45 and one-day passes for £13.80. There are also VIP passes yet to be released.

Fans have reacted to the news with delight saying they are ‘super excited’ and ‘looking forward to it.’ One person commented on the Facebook announcement: “I have a year to make my next costume!” While another agreed: “Looking forward to it.”

Scott Alcock said: ” Super excited to see this running again in 2023. Really looking forward to what new panels and guests they have lined up, there is always a great mix. “
