Former Dragons’ Den star Hilary Devey has died, it’s been confirmed. Her PR agent confirmed the 65-year-old had died over the weekend.

She died in Morocco on Saturday (June 11) following a lengthy illness. In 2013 the English businesswoman and entrepreneur was made an OBE for services to the transport industry and to charity.

Well known for appearing on Dragons’ Den, Ms Devey went on to present Channel 4 series The Intern. A spokesperson told The Mirror: “I can confirm that Hilary sadly died yesterday. She had been ill for some time.”

She also featured on the Secret Millionaire in 2008 and presented The Business Inspector in 2010. After leaving school at the age of 16, Hilary took on a wild range of jobs – including a stint in the Women’s RAF – before finally seeking her fortune. The enterprising star eventually sold her house and her car to set up her business Pall-Ex which went on to be worth millions.
