‘Jewellery brawl’ ends with teens arrested after Nottinghamshire Police find getaway cars

Five people were arrested by Nottinghamshire Police after reports of a fight over jewellery. Two getaway cars were tracked down by response officers following an incident in Rosebay Gardens, Clipstone at around 3:30am on Wednesday, July 7.

A man and two women were said to have received minor injuries during a brawl, which is believed to have been sparked by an earlier incident which took place on Singleton Avenue, Mansfield, over an item of jewellery.

Following the disorder in Clipstone, the response officers tracked down two vehicles and detained five suspects. Cannabis, cash and a knife was found in one of the cars.

Two teenage boys, aged 16 and 17, have been arrested on suspicion of possession with the intent to supply class B drugs. A 15 year old boy has been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and possession with intent to supply class B drugs.

A 26 year old woman has been arrested on suspicion of two counts of assault occasioning actual body harm. An 18 year old girl was arrested on suspicion of robbery, common assault, possession with intent to supply class B drugs and possession of a bladed article.

Detective Sergeant Katie Hurrell, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Violence will not be tolerated under any circumstances and I am pleased that the swift response of officers has resulted in five suspects being detained. Enquiries to establish the full circumstances behind these incidents are ongoing and I would ask anyone with information that may assist the investigation to call 101 quoting incident 62 of 7 July 2022.”
