A lorry involved in a crash on Lady Bay Bridge has been removed from the area. Pictures from the scene show the condition of the lorry involved in the incident – with vehicle recovery services on hand to take it away.
Paramedics and firefighters were called to the scene following the incident shortly before 9am on Monday, July 4. One man is understood to have been involved in the incident, with Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service saying he was freed by the emergency services. The extent of his injuries are not yet known.
Pictures from the scene show a lorry on its side ready to be lifted away by emergency services. Richford Motoring Services, a vehicle recovery company, was on hand to help recover the lorry. Police are also still on the scene.
Police confirmed they were called at 8.51am to a report that a lorry left the carriageway at Lady Bay Bridge and had come crashing down an embankment. The bridge is closed in both directions while emergency services continue to deal with the incident.
Drivers have been urged to seek alternative routes following the crash. Reports have stated that traffic is “moving slowly.”
Eyewitnesses reported seeing an air ambulance in the area.
