A group of travellers have pitched up at a park in Beeston, days after a group was ordered to leave a nearby spot by a university. A large number of caravans and cars could be seen parked at Hetley Pearson Recreation Ground, off Queen’s Road West, on Saturday, June 25.
Earlier this week, the University of Nottingham ordered an encampment of travellers to leave Highfields Park in Beeston after they pitched up on Friday, June 17. The Co-op in the area reportedly had to temporarily close due to issues experienced.
Hetley Pearson Recreation Ground is used for games of both football and cricket, boasting a full-sized and mini football pitch, as well as a cricket pitch. It is unknown how long the group of travellers have been at the site and whether they have been ordered to leave.
