A 32-year-old woman is being sentenced today (June 14) after she caused a motorcyclist’s death when she was drink-driving. Julieanne Walsh pleaded guilty to careless driving when over the drink drive limit on July 25, 2021.
Her plea was entered at a hearing at Nottingham Crown Court on April 12 and was adjourned for sentencing just after 12 noon on Tuesday, June 14.
Walsh, 32, of Abbott Road, Mansfield, attended court. She drank five pints of lager and two Jägerbomb drinks at a St Ann’s pub before she drove. There was a slight collision with the motorbike on a bend after her van went over the double white lines.
The victim was Mark Stephen Osborne, 48, who died on the A60 Mansfield Road between Papplewick and Arnold. An inquest was opened and adjourned into his death on October 1, 2021.
Fiona Gingell, assistant coroner for Nottinghamshire, had adjourned the opening of the inquest at Nottingham’s Council House, until a full hearing at a later date.
