Councillors have approved another 255 houses for a huge development between Netherfield and Stoke Bardolph. The development is set to have 830 homes in total as well as a primary school, hotel, a care home, playing pitches and changing facilities, public open space and allotments.

The third phase was approved by Gedling Borough Council’s Planning Committee on Wednesday, June 22. It will consist of 44 two-bed homes, 61 three-bed homes, 115 four-bed homes, and 35 five-bed homes.

However, just 13 of these will be affordable homes – equating to five per cent. So far around 220 dwellings, a primary school and a care home have been completed at the site.
