A man was taken to hospital after a motorbike and car collided on a road in Mapperley. Ransom Road, Mapperley, was forced to close following the road traffic crash which occurred shortly after 4.10pm on Tuesday, July 5.

The extent of the mans injuries are currently unknown. Nottingham City Transport (NCT) confirmed that their Blue 42 service was unable to operate along its entire route due to the incident.

The road has now reopened and buses eventually continued on their normal route. Police have since appealed for those who witnessed the incident to come forward.

Inspector Nick Wood, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Officers were called to a report of a collision involving a motorbike and car at the junction of Brewsters Road and Ransom Road, Mapperley, shortly after 4.10pm today (5 July).

“A man has been taken to hospital but the extent of his injuries is currently unknown.

“The road has now reopened and I want to thank motorists for their patience while we dealt with the incident.

“If you witnessed the incident, or have any information that could assist us with our enquiries, we’d ask that you contact police.

“We would also like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have recorded dash-cam footage.”
