There are plenty of places in the city centre offering outdoor cinema this summer with lots of different films to choose from. Wollaton Hall is one of the most atmospheric places to watch a film – it is also featured Batman so it’s no stranger to Hollywood. The outdoor cinema will screen some of the best classic films including a few that are perfect for children.

The Luna Cinema programme includes West Side Story by Steven Spielberg which was released earlier this year. Ticket prices start at £16 for entry with some luxury packages available.

Wizards and witches will be delighted to see that Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone will also be screened. The open-air setting and the historic setting of Wollaton Hall is the perfect backdrop for the children’s classic.

Newstead Abbey is another great location for a movie night. The popular tourist spot will be screening music-themed films in July including Sister Act, Mamma Mia and Bohemian Rhapsody.

The atmospheric formerly Augustinian priory is the perfect backdrop for belting out a few of the best-loved tracks from all three movies. There will be a full bar on-site as well as the opportunity to pick up a few snacks or alternatively, pack a picnic you can bring with you.
