Gedling Borough Council has made energy rebate payments to the majority of households that pay their council tax by direct debit. This is about three quarters of all households, which will be over £5mn.

If you are in the borough and do not pay your council tax through direct debit, you will be able to collect your energy bills rebate in cash at the post office. From next week, letters will be going out to those affected.

This letter will explain how you can claim your payment. To help manage demand in post offices these letters will be staggered over three weeks, so some residents may not receive them until early July.

The council is using its discretionary funding to pay an extra £23 to households in the bands A-D who receive Council Tax Support, as well as paying £173 to all households receiving Council Tax Support in properties with a band higher than band D. This grant does not need to be repaid.
