Police issue key update after cordons set up in Nottingham after assaults

Four men have been arrested after an incident in Nottingham city centre that led to the closure of four roads. Officers were called to Milton Street at around 3.45am on Sunday, June 26 following reports of a disturbance in the area.

Two men were taken to Queen’s Medical Centre as a result of the incident. Their injuries are not life-altering or life-threatening and the pair remain in hospital.

Cordons were set up in Milton Street, Upper Parliament Street, Clumber Street and Clinton Street, raising concern amongst people in the city. Meanwhile, four men aged 19, 25, 28 and 31 were this morning arrested on suspicion of violent disorder.

Detective Inspector James McDonagh, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “A team of detectives is working incredibly hard to establish the circumstances of this incident and those inquiries are ongoing. As these arrests show, the force treats reports of violence extremely seriously and we will always take swift action to investigate and track down suspects.”
