Reports of man smashing window of house in Nottingham

A member of the public called 999 after seeing a man smash a window at a property. The incident was reported to have happened shortly before 5.30pm on Sunday (June 26) at a property on Woodstock Avenue in Bobbers Mill.

A number of items believed to be stolen from the property were found in a bag a search of a man. A 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of burglary and possession of cannabis. He remains in police custody for questioning.

Detective Constable David Thornton, who is leading the investigation, said: “I’m pleased that, thanks to some great work by response officers, we managed to move in and make an arrest. I would also wish to thank the person who alerted us to the burglary.

“Such crimes can be deeply upsetting for victims and by calling 999 the caller has helped us detain a suspect and recover a number of stolen items.”
