Police have charged a man after a woman suffered facial injuries in an alleged street attack. Officers were called to Day Street, Warsop, at around 9.35pm on Monday, July 4, following reports of an assault.

A woman had to be taken to hospital for treatment after sustaining facial injuries during the incident. Shaun Cook has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent, possession of an offensive weapon, harassment and breaching a restraining order.

Detective Constable Jayne Milne, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was a violent assault that thankfully didn’t result in the victim sustaining more serious injuries. The force strongly condemns all forms of violence and will always respond to each and every report we receive of this nature, so that we can keep our communities safe.”
