Warhammer creator Games Workshop pays staff £10m share of profits after recent success

Staff at Nottingham-based Games Workshop have been sharing in its success after its profits jumped by at least £4 million in the most recent financial year. The Warhammer World creator said it had paid £10 million to its staff as they share in the business’s profit following its recent success.

The Lenton-based firm said pre-tax profit is thought to have reached no less than £155 million in the year to May 29, up from £151 million a year earlier.

The company creates fantasy miniatures which are popular all around the world with collectors and gamers. Its Nottingham headquarters in Willow Road is home to more than 1,000 staff, according to the company’s Linkedin page. There staff design miniatures, games, books, paints, brushes and all the other products.

In its latest financial results, the company states that its revenue is thought to have reached no less than £385 million from £353 million. And the business said it had paid £10 million to its staff as they share in the business’s profit, meanwhile shareholders were paid dividends of £77 million.

Full results for the year will be released at the end of next month. Shares dropped 3.4%.

It comes after the company, which has its headquarters in Willow Road, Lenton, announced a new TV series based around some of its products. The Eisenhorn TV series is listed on the IMBd movie data base as “in development”.

Warhammer is popular with fans around the world and has a a huge number of high profile fans. In February, Superman actor Henry Cavill visited the Nottingham’s Warhammer World headquarters after speaking out about his love of Games Workshop’s products.

The Superman star had previously spoken about his love for the famous Nottingham company during an interview with the BBC’s Graham Norton.
