Woman injured over reports she was ‘attacked by a group’ in Kirkby-in-Ashfield

A woman was left with facial injuries after reports of a ‘nasty attack’. Police are now appealing for information after the alleged incident was reported at around 5.30pm on Wednesday (August 3).

The 25-year-old woman was treated in hospital for facial injuries. She was alleged to have been attacked by a small group of people in Glenside, Kirkby-in-Ashfield.

A 13-year-old girl has been arrested in connection with the incident. The police investigation continues.

Detective Katie Hurrell, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was a nasty and sustained attack that we believe may have been targeted at the victim. We are working hard to understand what happened and would like to speak to anyone who witnessed this incident or who has CCTV footage.

“We are especially keen to speak to any drivers who may have dashcam footage of what happened.” Anyone with additional information is asked to call the force on 101, quoting incident 608 of August 3.
